Corpo Days of the Weak

Moanday. According to the Overlord herself, Moanday is the day of the week when you moan that you don’t want to go to work. You moan through breakfast that you will come down with the flu at any second (you even try a few coughs to hurry it along), you moan while waiting for the FX, and you moan all the way to the office. At the office, you find that your friends are moaning along with you, filling the entire floor with wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Chooseday. On this day, you are positive that you are going down with something, you sniffle a little and despite what that lying thermometer has been telling you, you feel you have a fever. The presentation due on Wailsday has nothing to do with this sudden inexplicable ailment. Most of the day is spent choosing whether you’ll use your sick leave or your emergency leave the next day.

Wailsday. At this point, you decide that death would be doing you a favor by coming to you swiftly and mercifully on this day. By Wailsday, you pretty much look like death itself, dragging your carcass to the office through sheer force of will and through remembering that going through the motions of finding another job is more trouble than it’s worth.

Curseday. On this particular day, you find yourself cursing like mad. Usually on a Curseday, you wake up, take a shower, commute to work, sit down in front of your PC, and start cursing because you realize Fried-day feels soooo close but it’s still one day away. You still have to endure two more days before your much-needed weekend. And it’s driving you mad. The only way you let out some steam is to curse like crazy. Curseday is such a bitch, much like every other weekday. (-from Rica)

Fried-day. This is the day of the workweek when you wonder why you work in the first place and you get a realization that provides absolutely no comfort for you; refer to Work. Be glad that this is the end of the workweek and take comfort in the two days you get to spend at home with your home stresses. Then you’ll get back on Monday feeling refreshed and de-stressed, though like Sisyphus, you’ll have to do it all over and end up on Fried-day again. But take heart dear Yuppies, since this vicious cycle allows you to collect a certain thing called a Salary.

Shatterday. The severity of your hangover on this day is directly proportional to how hellish your work week had been. Where and through which sort of hard liquor you got drunk is directly proportional to your Salary (i.e. it’s completely acceptable if you get smashed via The Bar or some bootleg gin, we won’t hold it against you.). In addition to that, the thought of going through another hellish week is making you reach for another case of beer even though the traces of the last hangover haunts you still.

Shunday. According to Mai, this is the day spent wishing Moanday isn’t a reality. On this day, you shun of any and all thoughts about the work awaiting you on Moanday, but it becomes harder and harder as the day progresses and the time until Moanday grows ever shorter. You resign yourself to another week as you set your alarm to an unholy hour though the thought of another Moanday and a gazillion more Moandays may cause some to secretly wish they’d die peacefully in their sleep.
