Musical Frog Parts
FICTION posted by Karl
I spent the better part of the day looking for musical frog parts. All I really needed to complete the last LeGrand high gynerator was a lyric spleen, but it never hurts to have an ample stock of extra highstrings and xylobones. Allen would have been proud of me had he been there to see me expertly pluck each usable part from every frogthing I caught.
In the evening, Count Huigard came again to inquire about the gynerator’s progress. He became rather irate at the thought of me not finishing the last one in time, and started threatening to unleash his brilldogs on me. His son Saskia managed to convince him to stay his hand; that the deadline would be met. For that I thanked him, even though the memory of him crushing Allen’s face against the walls of Castle Gard-in-Estes still burns like wildfire in my mind.
Tomorrow morning I’ll be putting the finishing touches on the last gynerator. Father and son will come for all eight in the evening, as usual, and when they finally activate the LeGrand orchestra, Allen will have his vengeance. But that’s still a few hours away, and for now, I sleep.
